HP Support Assistant has never checked for updates or messages :/

I have a HP Notebook 15-da079dx. The HP Support Assistant will go through the motions as far as checking for updates and messages but does nothing. The last checked has always says Never but the next scheduled check always has a upcoming date. Thank goodness for my wife she also has an HP Notebook so when she updates her computer she updates mine as well but we can't for the life of us figure out why mine does not work. She has uninstalled and reinstalled the support assistant as well and we still get the same result. Please help!

If the issue still persists, please update the BIOS and check for the issue.

Also, please check for the windows update.
