Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-d1 (53F52AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello,

I have laptop HP Victus 16 -d1xxx with I7-12700h processor and Windows 11, bios F.12.

I've spotted strange thing in CPU cores utilization. I use software (I don't want to write its name) witch uses most of time only 1 core  - the last one (14). At the same time the rest cores is only 0 to several % utilized. This software takes a lot time for calculation. I wonder why always this soft uses last CPU core (14) with clock about 3,5Ghz. I think, it would be better (faster) when the soft would use first CPU core with its max speed 4.1Ghz.

Has anyone spotted the same, and is it ok ?

Best regards,

Piotr

Not all software support multi cores CPU's (or processors). Please check your software: does it utilize multi core processors. What is it ?

Hi Banhien,

   Thank you for reply.

You're right, but soft I'm writing about, most of time uses only one core. My question is : why for a long periods it utilizes 100% last core (I7-12700H) while the rest CPU cores are only 0 to several % utilized ?  What decides about which core is used and how much utilized : Bios, Windows or program ?

All the best,

Piotr
