Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598U8AV)

Hello, I would like to ask if the MediaTek MT7925 (Specifically the MT7925B22M) is supported on the HP Victus 15-fb0000. I saw a recent post by @Thorluis2 (Link To The Posthttps://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrading-wlan-for-hp-victus-f...) about a similar question about upgrading from MT7921 to the MT7925, and it worked for him. I can say that my laptop should be able to support it physically, as it uses a PCIe E Key, but not as much as the BIOS (maybe a whitelist problem). When I tried to install it, it only detected the Bluetooth driver and not the actual WiFi device and I did try updating drivers (from HP Support Assistant and HP Driver Download Website) but still to no avail I tried to check it in the HP Hardware Diagnostics (by pressing ESC then to F2) and it did detect a wireless device and I do know the MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver directly from HP does indicates it can install drivers for 7925 as it references it in SWSetup Folder under "src" folder, please I need all the help since I am at standstill with what I should do next.

Hi:

See if this discussion is of help to you:

Using the Intel AX210 on the HP Victus 15-fb0102la - HP Support Community - 9328456

If not, then install the Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E card with this part number/SPS number and try the BIOS reset again:

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS # M27269-005.

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried to do that, but it didn't work. I even went as far as to unplug the battery and do a complete flea power reset, and force the BIOS to reset, but it also didn't work and for you're other suggestion of using a Intel AX210 I acutally do already have that and been using it as a previous upgrade from the MT7921 the reason why I wanted to use the newer MT7925 other than fact its WiFi 7 802.11be capabilities is that in high usage the AX210 it completely just disappears from Windows and creates a lot errors in event viewer relating to "Netwtw14" under Event 5004, 5007, 7029, and so on and it disappears afterwards and it necessitated a full system restart to get it reappear I deemed so annoying and just switch back over to a MediaTek WiFi adapter since generally AMD CPU systems are more compatible with it

The problem with me using Intel AX210 and the "Netwtw14" is a different problem entirely and necessitates a different post, but here are some screenshots of what I mean. But yes, I can use it mostly without problem if it's not high usage.

I am considering this either a BIOS whitelist problem, or generally a BIOS error interfacing with MT7925 problem, or a driver problem, in which I cannot find the correct drivers for it. I would love to know how OP from @Thorluis2 or @prawn432 (here are their respective threads: Throluis2 and prawn432) managed to fix theirs just by updating drivers.

You're very welcome.

Yes, I would attribute the problem to the BIOS rejecting the card due to a partial whitelist.

On some notebooks, mainly those with AMD processors and chipsets that happens frequently.

There are a couple of recent HP Intel models with that problem such as the 15-fq and 15-dy model series.

The card simply doesn't show up in the device manager.

Sometimes it shows up and works fine but when the notebook is restarted, the adapter disappears, never to return.
