Could the loss of this file be the cause of my HP Pavilion 15 being incredibly slow in recent days? I have updated Windows and checked HP for updates and have run every troubleshooter I can find. Nothing!!! Sometime ago I worked on the accelerometer problem you outlined with no success. Thinking I had done my usual screwup, I tried to do it again. I could not find the file you directed in my programs so hope that I previously deleted it. I have restarted my computer several times since the previous work. I downloaded the "fixer" file and was told it was already on my computer so I don't know where to go from here.

Hi.
Hoping you can help.
I uninstalled the existing prograand then downloaded and installed the version of HP 3D DriveGuard at the link, but I do not see the new HP 3D DriveGuard in Apps and Features. Should I be looking for a different name?
Thx!
Denise

Same here.
I clicked the download link and then run., and something did run, but after a closer look i found that was simply a bootstrap program that downloaded the actual installer files to C:\SWSetup\SP81142.
I had to navigate to that folder and then run the Setup.exe program found there as Administrator.
After Setup completes, one more reboot, and then when I checked Control Panel - Programs I now have HP 3D Driveguard installed.

My HP Pavilion 15 P246TX is running a Windows 10 Home Single Language Edition, Version 1709 Build 16299.64 which was recently updated few minutes ago. The HP Accelerometer error message popped up after the laptop restarts.
However, the issue persists after following the instructions to install sp81142.exe and uninstalling the previously installed version which is incompatible to the recently updated version of Windows 10. The current version of HP 3D DriveGuard Software on HP website is v6.0.44.1 Rev.A released in Oct 11, 2017. This software was previously installed and ran fine before the recent Windows update.
Will this error affects the operation of my laptop as I use it for work and personal and losing data is not what I had in mind.
Thank you.
