Hi,

I installed Windows 10 about a year ago and after latest updates I get an error message at startup.

This app can't run on this PC

HP accelerometer.

Hewlett-Packard

HP accelerometer doesn't work on this version of Windows.

An updated app may be available.

Could someone please help as I can't find a solution on HP or Windows solution centres?

Many thanks

Adam

Hi,

Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.

unfortunately I can't proceed with the proposed solution, as the laptop hang after startup with the error message.

The link install doesn't work. Same problem as previously. On screen message -  'This app won't work on... etc'

I have now uninstalled HP 3D DriveGuard competely and not replaced it.

Give us an easy fix please HP

This issue seems to have affected a wide range of models and since the 1703 update.  That's a year ago and the number of users affected by this is enormous (see how many results there are just searching for the excat error message text), but unless this fix happens to work for you, you're stuck with the option of simply having to uninstall the driver completely and put up with the warning in Device Manager.

It hasn't worked for me, neither have any of the wide range of suggestions returned when serching more broadly for issues relating to this driver on Wimdows 10 1703.  I've spent ages, tried the lot - no joy at all.  The only benefit is feeling vindicated in my decision to give up with HP some years ago.  I had many years history with HP - at one time all our PCs laptops, printers and monitors were HP, but we've gradually moved away in response to HP's increasingly poor support.

Okay, I know this isn't a new device, but given the huge number of users affected by this issue it's quite disgraceful that it hasn't been addressed a year later.
