Hi,
Download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp82001-82500/sp82228.exe
When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

Hi,
Thanx for the tip but I still get the same message. I deleted the HP driveguard software, restarted. Then installed the version from the link above and restarted again.
Any more ideas 🙂 ?
Thanx in advance

Hi,
Try the following.
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Download the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81001-81500/sp81142.exe
Download and install the x64 version of 7-Zip on the link below.
When you've installed 7-Zip, open your Downloads folder, right click on the sp81142 package, select 7-Zip, select extract files and then click Ok.
Cut this newly extracted folder and paste it on your Desktop so it's easy to find.
When done, hold down the Windows key and press R
Into the Run window, type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
In Device Manager, expand System devices, right click the HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor entry and select 'Update Driver Software'.
In the following window, select 'Browser my computer for driver software' and then select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
In the next window, click the 'Have Disk' button and then browse to the extracted sp81142 folder you pasted on your Desktop.
Browse into the sub-folder InstallFiles, open the folder Win10, left click on the file accelerometer to highlight it and then click Open.
Click on 'Ok' and then click 'Next' and wait for the driver to install.
When done, click 'Close' and then click 'Yes' to restart the notebook.

Any update to this software yet? I have the same error after updating Windows 10. The latest version of the HP 3D Driveguard software (6.0.44.1) does not fix it. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling this version.
That version came out 10/11/17 and this problem just started occurring within the last week.
Thanks.

Hello!
I tried this workaround and it seems the error message disappeared.
Now Device Manager report driver version 6.0.22.1
Anyway, please update the normal installer in order to work properly: workaround are not a solution for all customers.

I have uninstalled the application, restarted, reinstalled according to the suggested workaround in this thread, restarted after that, and I still get the message. I don't know what else to do. Hopefully someone else comes up with a solution that works, other than uninstalling it permanently.
