This evening i attemped to turn on my laptop but there was no response . I left it on " sleep status" this morning. I checked the plug, changed the fuse still nothing. I tried the removal of battery and held the ON button down for 30-60 seconds . still nothing. No problems with it in the last 24 months . Can anyone help?

Hello
I took it back to the retailer who advised me that the it was the power board which was faulty , caused by the power socket being forced in. I don't agree as i cant work out how the power socket could be damged in that way however i am out of warranty and have little option but to repair it myself ,
Learnt a lesson and won't buy HP again
Thanks for your help

Hi there @covjones,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel.
I understand that you are unable to start your computer. I am happy to help with this. Please post the full product number for your notebook. See the following, if you need help with that information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
When you plug in the power adapter is there any sign of power, is the charging LED lit, etc?
When you power on the computer do you hear the sounds of the fan spinning up, and the hard drive spinning?
Is your power adapter plugged directly in to a wall outlet?
Have you tried a different wall outlet from the normal one?
Depending on your answers, it may be clear that the problem is power related. IF you do see power and there is some response when you try to turn on the notebook, then give this page a try:
HP Notebook PCs - Computer does not start (Windows 😎
Also these may be of use to you.
Using and Testing the AC Power Adapter
AC Adapter Battery Charging Indicator LED Does Not Display Immediately When Plugged In
Improving Battery Performance (Windows 8, 7, Vista)
Let me know if this works for you, or if you need more help.

The fact that there is no sign of ANY power is bad. Does the power connector in the notebook jiggle or seem loose at all?
If so or if you tried that other page I linked to last time for HP Notebook PCs - Computer does not start (Windows 😎 and there was no sign of life at all, it sounds to me as if the problem is in the power stage on the main board of the notebook.
In that case I would recommend that you call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
Using the support number you can check on your options, for a replacement board, or general repair, if necessary.
Also the HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide could be of help. If you are not in warranty, and feeling adventurous, you could check the board for a loose connection.
I hope this helps.
