So i have inherited this HP Pavilion dv2500.

I want to make a full upgrade, CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo and it's the best it can have, so i want to upgrade the RAM from 2GB to maybe 4 if it supports it and the BIOS from F.13 to the most it can get, i proceded with the latter but i can't find BIOS updates for dv2500.

HP has retired support for your PC since it is more than 10 years old.

Below is exe file link to the last BIOS update HP released for your notebook (F.2E):

Thanks a lot for the software. I must ask, is it better to use it on Windows Vista or XP? I've been reading about and the opinions are mixed.

You're very welcome.

It is always safer to use a supported operating system to run BIOS updates on, but in your notebook's model series since it has an Intel processor, the BIOS updates normally work on W7 & W10.

It it had an AMD processor, I would have advised you that you have to install XP or Vista because the BIOS updates 100% fail on the dv2500, dv6500 and dv9500 notebooks with those processors.

But if you have a way to install W7 or Vista, that would probably be your best option.

It's an Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5GHz so i'm probably safe. Thank you again!

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

Please post back and let us know how your notebook's BIOS update went.
