I bought home a brand new HP x2 detachable 10-p0XX and the pro tablet active pen (aka synaptics) came along with it.
after some time, it worked absolutely fine! but now, after a few months, it only shows the cursor and does not press anything and cannot draw anything. Sure, it can hover over icons but it cannot press buttons, right click, or draw, making it impossible to do my hobby in which i bought the laptop for!
Everything else works fine, like touching the screen with my finger.
it cannot be the batteries i put in, because i just bought them!
whats going on?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
What is the exact model for the Active pen you are using?
Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Hello, sorry for not responding quickly enough.
The article is very much helpful, after clicking the menu for my opition it just assumes im putting my palm too close to the screen while writing/drawing, but overall the other things just doesnt help my issue.
If im correct, the model should be: PR775 (HP) if im looking at my pen right.
Thank you.

I recommend you enable palm rejection.
To enable palm rejection, open the Settings app and go to the Devices group of settings. Go to the Pen & Windows Ink tab, and under Pen, you will see an option called 'Ignore touch input when I'm using my pen'.
