HP ZBook 15 G3 Mobile Workstation
Microsoft Windows 11

I ask HP Support to check my PC for driver updates.  It listed lots of updates including a BIOS update.  I checked my BIOS version and it is already the latest.  I wonder if all the other suggested updates are incorrect.  Is there a setting or something else I am missing to get an accurate driver list that I need to download?

There are not HP software and drivers listed for this system and any version of Windows 11.

Assuming the hardware holds together, the workstation is likely fine as long as you can get Windows Updates -- and probably for a while after that.

Welcome to the HP English Community --

If you are referring to using the HP Support Assistant, it is giving you incorrect information.

There are not HP software and drivers listed for Windows 11.

Dragon Observation

HP Support Assistant is not always able to handle discrepancies of this type.

HP Image Assistant - HPIA - The software / driver updater / installer software for business class machines -- confirms that Windows 11 is not supported for this model.

A check of the BIOS updated listed in Software & Drivers  (Operating System / version set for Windows 10 ) indicates that the BIOS update is meant for Windows 10 and older.

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (N81)

It's possible that one or more of the old Windows 10 drivers will be tolerated in Windows 11 --

That said,

You can check

Open Software & Drivers  (Operating System / version set for Windows 10 )

Open each driver page and check whether you actually want (or need) that driver.

I don't know what I did different from before.  Before I did the fresh install, the HP link I was using was showing I did not need any updates after I updated from the list it provided.  Maybe I had it set for Windows 10.  I will try what you suggested and see what it says.

Did not seem to make any difference.  Maybe because I am using the latest Windows 11.

I really like the PC, a free one a fellow who is an IT guy where he works.  Their sales people get new laptops periodically and the company gave it to him and he installed W11 on it and gave it to me.  It is rather heavy, but I don't take it away much.  It is my first HP product.  I am glad people smarter than me figured out how to install W11 on machines that MS deemed not suitable.  I also dabble with Linux Mint, another system that extends the use of computers.  Thanks much for you input and helping me learn.
