Hi @LRaim

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I am sorry for the disruption you are experiencing with HP Sure Click interfering when you try to edit your own Word files. I understand how frustrating it feels when a security feature interrupts your workflow instead of protecting it. I appreciate the effort you’ve already made in identifying that Sure Click is the cause.

Here are steps you can try to disable HP Sure Click so you can work smoothly on your files:

Step 1: Open HP Sure Click Settings

  • Press the Windows key and type “HP Sure Click.”
  • Launch the HP Sure Click Control Panel.

Step 2: Turn Off HP Sure Click Protection for Applications

  • In the Control Panel, go to the “Application Protection” section.
  • Locate Microsoft Word or the Office applications.
  • Toggle the protection setting to “Off.”

Step 3: Disable HP Sure Click Entirely (if needed)

  • In the Control Panel, go to the “General” or “Settings” tab.
  • Select the option to disable HP Sure Click.
  • Restart your computer to apply the change.

Step 4: Uninstall HP Sure Click (optional)

  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Apps > Installed Apps.
  • Find “HP Sure Click” in the list.
  • Select “Uninstall” and follow the prompts.

Step 5: Verify Normal Operation

  • Open Microsoft Word and edit your files.
  • Confirm that the interruptions no longer occur.

These steps should help you regain control of your workflow and prevent HP Sure Click from interfering with your Word documents.
