HP wide vision camera is not getting switched on for zoom meetings

I understand you're having trouble with the HP Wide Vision Camera not turning on during Zoom meetings on your HP Pavilion x360 - 14-ba123tu. Let's go through some steps to get this resolved:

 

Check Camera Privacy Settings

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Camera.
  3. Ensure Camera access is turned On.
  4. Scroll down and make sure Zoom is allowed to access the camera.

Test Camera in Windows Camera App

  1. Press Windows + S, type Camera, and open the Camera app.
  2. If the camera works here, the issue is likely with Zoom settings.
  3. If it doesn’t work, proceed to the next steps.

Update or Reinstall Camera Driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras.
  3. Right-click on HP Wide Vision HD Camera and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for drivers.

If that doesn’t help:

  • Right-click the camera again and choose Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.

Check Zoom Camera Settings

  1. Open Zoom and go to Settings > Video.
  2. Ensure the correct camera (HP Wide Vision HD Camera) is selected.
  3. If it shows a black screen, try toggling HD or Mirror my video options.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to test the camera:

  • Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Select Component Tests > Webcam Test.
