I've been trying to enable tpm2.0 on my hp laptop but i can't find any way to make it work. I tried doing it from bois but there's not any options connected to tpm not even in security menu or anything. I searched everything and i cant find it. I tried installing it from device manager but it still says that I don't have a compatible tpm. I really need help with this

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

If it is several years old, it may not have a TPM security chip.

HP Notebook - 15-bs193od

it's not that old i guess

I agree.

The PC has an Intel 8th gen core processor and should have come with a TPM 2.0 security device.

If there is no TPM setting in the BIOS' security menu, I don't know what to tell you.

It could also be labeled in the BIOS as an embedded security device.

Why do you need to enable the TPM?

If it is to install W11, I can give you an easy workaround to do an in-place upgrade from W10>W11.

Oh. I'll check again if there's anything labeled as embedded security device but i don't think i saw anything like that. i can send you a picture of what is in the bios if it might help. i want tpm because some apps and games require it to work.

HP Recommended

Yes, send me some screenshots because I am surprised your notebook doesn't have a TPM.

There's no security devices category in the device manager?

That's where you would see the TPM 2.0 device in Windows.

well there is in the device manager and i checked it and it showed that it's working fine but whenever i check the tpm.msc it says there's no compatible tpm on this computer

Since the TPM security device shows up in the device manager, it is activated, so I don't know what to tell you.

Some TPM functions require you to have Windows Professional installed such as using Bitlocker encryption.

So what can i do to make it work. Isn't there any way to do it in this current state of windows?

HP Recommended

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know.
