How do I eliminate Microsoft Edge from my device?

This new laptop came with Microsoft Edge and it is a problem. I can't login to facebook. I can't set Google as my default browser.

Microsoft Edge is Microsoft and will stay on the computer.

Be glad for that - at least you can peruse the Internet until such time that you can install a different browser.

You need not use the browser.

 I'm not aware that Microsoft Edge dislikes FaceBook --

That said, I cannot check for you -- I've never had a Facebook account.

Try / Consider

Find, Download, and Install a different Browser of your choice and set that browser as your default.

Google is a Search Engine -

Chrome is a Browser from (and made by) Google.

Google Chrome - Browser 

Firefox, Opera, and other Browsers are available.

If you have none of these, use Microsoft Edge to search for what you want.

When you find the browser you like, download and install it.

Open the new Browser - In the browser's own settings, set that browser as the Default.
