Please tell us why you want to do that -- it will impair the performance of the disk-drive.
Maybe, there is a better solution to your real problem ?!
Some newer computers do not support IDE mode, thus making it impossible to make that change.

to benefit from others experience with "cross-breeding".
Or, should it be "artificial insemination" ? "Surrogate gestation" ?

You have a very-recent computer, shipped with Windows 10.
Are you sure that it is not currently set to AHCI mode?
Within Windows, use "Advanced Restart" to immediately reboot into BIOS SETUP mode.
