I would like to know how to add a Desktop Shortcut Icon to my Windows 11 Desktop for your HP Support Assistant software program.
I know that it is possible to add it to the Task Bar and the Start Menu. But instead, I would like to add a short-cut to the Desk Top (for space purposes).
I was able to change ownership of the folder where the program resides (Programs/WindowsApps) to myself (Admin), so I could then view the folder where the program is located. However, all the short cuts I created, for all the application files I could find in the folder for HP Support Assistant did not work.

This video explains how to do it and it worked for me.

If there is a problem running it you may need to undo the folder permission changes you made.

Yes! Thanks so much for your help. I was trying for days and days to figure it out on my own.
What a simple solution: Just find the App in the list of apps from the start menu, and then just drag it to the desktop. Voila! 🙂

PS: One of the reasons it took so long to reply was that i was having difficulties COMPLETELY restoring the folder to the default settings. Numerous variations came up, but none of my original attempts completely restored back to factory settings. However, the following set of command lines seems to have fixed it so I no longer have access to the folder anymore: https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/windowsapps-folder-restore-default-permissions/?expand_article=1
