I've been trying to find a solution to this for a while. I got a new laptop a little while back for gaming and immediately discovered a problem. The laptop, a 2020 HP with AMD Ryzen 5 processor and ELAN Input running Windows 11, has two finger scrolling. My other laptops have always had a scrolling region on the right side. I went into the settings for the touchpad in the control panel but, while I can disable two finger scrolling there, there isn't an option to set up a scrolling region. If I disable two finger scrolling I just can't scroll at all. How do I both disable the two finger scroll and set the touchpad to have a scrolling region on the right side instead?

Hi @Jane194,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
On Windows 11, the touchpad settings are usually managed through the Settings app rather than the traditional Control Panel. Here's how you can disable two-finger scrolling and enable scrolling on the right side.
- Open the Settings app. You can do this by pressing the Windows key on your keyboard or clicking on the Windows icon in the taskbar, then selecting "Settings" (the gear-shaped icon).
- In the Settings window, click on "Devices."
- In the Devices menu, select "Touchpad" from the left sidebar.
- Under the Touchpad settings, look for the option related to scrolling. It might be labeled as "Scroll and zoom" or something similar.
- Toggle off the switch for "Two-finger scrolling" or a similar option. This should disable two-finger scrolling.
- Look for an option that allows you to choose the scrolling region. There might be a drop-down menu or a separate setting for this. Select the option that corresponds to "Right edge" or similar to set up a scrolling region on the right side.
- Close the Settings app, and your touchpad should now have a scrolling region on the right side without two-finger scrolling.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
