OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-xd0000 (758R2AV)

Hi I am unable to locate the option in my bios, but it's available in my other probook and zbook laptop. How to do it in this omen also? I tend to use it plugged in most of the time and that can deplete the battery. Pls help

Also I have all drivers installed but geforce now option isn't available in my nvidia panel. I wanted to customize my display colors but the option isn't there. Possible fix?

@swastik07, Thanks for getting back, and I completely understand your concern—keeping your OMEN in top shape, especially the battery, is smart thinking! 🌱🔋

For your OMEN 16-xd0020AX, if HP Power Manager isn’t available (which is the case for some OMEN models), don’t worry—there are still a couple of practical workarounds:

Alternative Options to Limit Battery Charging:

1. OMEN Gaming Hub (Battery Health Manager):

Open OMEN Gaming Hub

Go to "My OMEN" > "Power" or check under System Vitals / Settings

Look for a Battery Care Mode or Battery Health Manager option

If available, toggle it to limit charging to 80%

If you don’t see it there, it may not be included in your OMEN's current BIOS or firmware version.

2. BIOS Settings (Double Check):

Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS

Check under Advanced > Power or Configuration for a setting related to Battery Care or Max Battery Charge Limit

If it's missing, your BIOS version may not support it yet—keep an eye out for updates on the HP support page

As for the GeForce NOW Color Settings:

If NVIDIA Control Panel is missing certain features like Display > Adjust desktop color settings, try this:

Quick Fixes:

Make sure you’re on Discrete GPU mode (not hybrid/auto). You can switch this in the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage Display Mode

Or check Windows Settings > Display > Graphics and force apps to use the High Performance (NVIDIA GPU)

Finally, update or reinstall your NVIDIA Studio/Game Ready Driver from NVIDIA's website

Let me know if you need help with any of these steps—I’m happy to guide you through. 🙂

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

@swastik07, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Limiting Battery Charge and Customizing Display Colors on an HP OMEN Laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To limit the battery charge to 80% on your HP OMEN laptop, you can use the HP Power Manager utility, which provides prescriptive battery care.

Steps to Limit Battery Charge:

Download HP Power Manager:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Search for "HP Power Manager" and select the appropriate version for your laptop model.

Install and Configure HP Power Manager:

  • Open HP Power Manager after installation.
  • Navigate to battery settings and look for options to limit charging.
  • Set the charge limit to 80% to prevent battery degradation from constant full charge.

If HP Power Manager is not supported on your model, you might need to check for any model-specific software or updates that HP may have provided.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

@zoey7886 I have

OMEN Gaming Laptop 16-xd0020AX (9X651PA)

I wasn't able to find the battery manager software that you mentioned. What alternate ways can I use to limit the battery? I don't want to deplete the batteryhealth.
