I have found a bug in HP Client Management Script Library version 1.9.0 (08/19/2026). How can I report it?
Bug description:
The function Set-HPFirmwareBootLogo in module HP.Firmware incorrectly handles the case where given image is too large (either by file size or by resolution).
The expected error message is
File is larger than 32751 or has a greater resolution than 1024x768
The actual error message is
The variable '$size' cannot be retrieved because it has not been set.
This can be fixed by replacing $size with $info.Size and so forth on lines 712 and 713.

Hi @vyjebany_mozog,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you very much for taking the time to investigate this and for sharing such a detailed bug report with the community. Providing the CMSL version, affected function, expected and actual error messages, and the suggested correction is extremely helpful.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and helping us identify an issue that may benefit other HP Client Management users as well.
For visibility, I would also recommend posting the complete details on HP's Developer Portal. This is the appropriate community forum for HP Client Management Solutions, and sharing the finding there will allow other users and the relevant HP teams to see, discuss, and benefit from the information.
Thank you again for taking the time to report this and for helping improve the HP Client Management experience for everyone. We really appreciate the contribution!
Take care and have an amazing day!
I'm an HP Employee.

Thanks for the reply Vikram, but I am not able to create a new topic on the page you mentioned -- I apparently need to request membership in a group in order to do that, but I really can't tell which one of the ~15 available groups should I choose. Unfortunately I do not have any more time to spend on this, so please forward the issue to the development team if possible.
