How to set up a battery charging limit?

Hi,

I use my notebook plugged in to the charger almost all the time. I've recently had to replace battery in my notebook due to previous battery inflating. I've used the notebook just over 2 years, so it was already just out of warranty.

Now, with replaced battery, I'm loking for a way how to avoid it going bad / inflating or loosing capacity too much again.

I think the ideal solution here would be to set up charge limit, so the battery isn't sitting at 100%, rather i'd be much better, capped at around 80% or even less.

I have currently bios version F.35 Rev.A installed, which I believe is the latest one.

How do I set this up?

Normally in BIOS but your machine does not support this function. You can try at your own risk if you wish

Yes, indeed, I don't have this option between "Battery Remaining Time" & "Boot Options".

What do you mean by that? Is there some bios modification that would allow it? I'm willing to try it, if it's possible. Cannot HP add this option? Does the Hardware lack support? It doesn't seem to me adding it would be troublesome, mainly, when lot of other HP laptops do support it.

Other that that, are you saying there's nothing I can do to prevent my replaced battery ending up the same way, as the previous one?
