HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-f1000 (2L1B1AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently saw system notification from HP at the bottom right of my Windows 11 laptop screen. I found that it may come from HP Media Network which is installed under the path of C:\Program Files\HP\HP Media Network. The files was created in June to July 2025 but I've no idea how it was installed, likely through Windows Update, named HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.79.4265.0. But I cannot uninstall the update through Windows Update settings, nor could I find any installed HP apps to uninstall. Please assist help me to figure out how to install this software. Thank you in advance.

That is very interesting...

I googled ' HP Media Network' and found this article:

HP to launch advertising platform on PCs, streaming video app

The HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent - 1.79.4265.0 update was for this:

HP Application Enabling Software Driver is a virtual driver that offers general custom capabilities utilized among HP applications after transferring to the Microsoft Store app with HSA architecture.

You can find the device it updated by going to the device manager.

Click to expand the Software Components device manager category.

The device that got updated is the HP Application Enabling Services device.

If you click on the driver tab, you will see the driver version that just got installed.

You can stop the service in the Windows control panel>services and disable it but anytime you get an update to that service it is going to run again.

According to the article, this seems to be a very recent thing HP is doing, so there isn't anything I can find regarding its removal.

I wonder what would happen if you simply deleted that C:\Program Files\HP\HP Media Network folder?

Or you may be able to disable the HPMediaNetwork.exe file from running if it is listed as a startup program in the Windows Task manager.

I have a HP notebook with an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor and it got that update too, and that program is not installed nor is there a file directory for it.

HP actually pushes an update to that HP Application Enabling Services every couple of months.

The program may not have been installed on my notebook because as soon that periodic HP Inc. - SoftwareComponent update installs, I immediately go into the services program, and stop and disable the following services:

HP App Helper HSA Service

HP Diagnostics HSA Service

HP Insights Analytics

HP Network HSA Service

I leave the HP System Info HSA Service running since disabling that service prevents the HP Command Center from running properly.

I just have the HP support Framework program in the HP program files folder.

I'll have to keep a 'weather eye' out for that app.
