I also tried to restore the system to a date where there weren't problems with HP Support Assistant but this message appears:

Maybe I solved, for the moment.

 

I did an IN PLACE update of windows 10 (hope it's the correct way to call it) keeping personal files and apps. 

This was the recommended procedure to solve the errore I posted before.

 

Then I uninstalled HP Support Assistant from control panel (no error occured) and installed the latest version from the link you provided me.

 

Now the software (and the battery check) works fine again.
