I have a Hp Victus 15.6 inch laptop, Whose built in camera is not working. Whenever i open the camera app or any app that requires a camera, the LED indicator briefly flashes and turns off with no video output.I have checked settings for permissions, closed apps that may be using the camera. I have also run hp diagnostics both software and firmware level which said it was working fine.I also tried SFC and DISM commands and have uninstalled and updated the camera drivers to no luck. I have even upgraded the Firmware(BIOS/UEFI). Still the LED just briefly turns on and then off.I have even checked event viewer to see if there is any underlying hardware/driver fault. I have also tried forcing windows to use the generic camera drivers to no luck.Im running Windows 11 25H2. Please Help

I understand your HP Victus 15.6‑inch laptop’s integrated webcam LED blinks briefly and then shuts off with no video output, even after you’ve tried drivers, BIOS updates, diagnostics, and permissions. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Check Camera Privacy Shutter or Hotkey

Some Victus models have a physical privacy shutter or a function key (often F10 or Fn + F10) that disables the camera.

Make sure the shutter is open and the hotkey hasn’t turned the camera off.

Verify Camera in Device Manager

Open Device Manager > Cameras.

Confirm the integrated camera is listed and enabled.

If disabled, right‑click and select Enable Device.

Remove and Reinstall Drivers Completely

In Device Manager, uninstall the camera driver and check “Delete the driver software.”

Restart the laptop and let Windows reinstall the default driver.

Then install the latest HP‑specific driver from the support page for your Victus model.

Disable Conflicting Apps

Apps like Zoom, Teams, or security software can lock the camera.

Close all background apps, then test the camera in the Windows Camera app.

Check Windows Privacy Settings

Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.

Ensure “Camera access” and “Let apps access your camera” are both turned on.

Scroll down and confirm the apps you use have permission.

Test in HP Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI)

Restart and press F2 to enter diagnostics.

Run the camera test.

If the test passes but Windows still fails, it points to a driver/software conflict.

Reset Windows Camera App

Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Camera > Advanced Options.

Select Reset.

This clears corrupted app data that can prevent video output.

Check BIOS Security Settings

Enter BIOS (F10 at startup).

Under Security > Device Security, confirm the integrated camera is enabled.

Save changes and reboot.
