@charlie319, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're unable to type in Korean on your new HP 17.3" Laptop, it's likely that the Korean language pack and keyboard input method haven't been installed yet. Here's how you can set it up in Windows 11:
Steps to Enable Korean Typing:
Open Language Settings:
- Click the Start button and type "Language settings", then press Enter.
Add Korean Language:
- Under Preferred languages, click Add a language.
- Search for Korean, select it, and click Next.
- Make sure to check Install language pack and Set as my display language (optional).
- Click Install.
Enable Korean Keyboard Input:
- After installation, Korean will appear in your language list.
- Click on Korean, then Options.
- Under Keyboards, ensure Microsoft IME is listed. If not, click Add a keyboard and select Microsoft IME.
Switch Between Languages:
- Use Windows key + Spacebar to toggle between English and Korean input.
- You can also click the language icon on the taskbar to switch.
Test Korean Typing:
- Open Notepad or any text editor and try typing in Korean using the IME.
