Yeah, that finally worked. Turning the task off in Task Manager. But it will come back again, so send the HP Update application to the trash. That finally did it for good. Click on the folder in Task Manager to find it

Type Task Manager into search at bottom left of screen. Notice there is an HP Update task there.  Disable it. Then go to the HP folder with HP Update.exe file in it. Trash this file. It sucks. Problem solved.
