Hi @Starspect,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

The Victus by HP Gaming Laptop typically comes with customizable RGB lighting on the keyboard, but to change the color of the LEDs, you usually need to use HP's software. Here's how you can change the lighting color:

1. Using HP OMEN Gaming Hub (For HP gaming laptops)

The HP OMEN Gaming Hub is the software designed for controlling various features of HP's gaming laptops, including keyboard lighting.

Step 1: Download and install the OMEN Gaming Hub software if it's not already installed on your system. You can get it from the Microsoft Store or the HP website.

Step 2: Open OMEN Gaming Hub. Once you launch the software, it should recognize your device.

Step 3: Go to the "Lighting" section. This section lets you adjust the RGB settings of your keyboard, including selecting colors and different lighting effects.

Step 4: Choose the color or effect you like, such as static, breathing, or cycling effects.

2. Using HP's BIOS Settings (If available)

Some HP laptops have RGB customization in the BIOS.

  • Step 1: Turn off your laptop.
  • Step 2: Turn it back on and immediately start pressing the Esc key (or F10, depending on the laptop model) to enter the BIOS.
  • Step 3: Look for a Lighting section in the BIOS menu. If available, you can adjust the keyboard color settings there.

I don't have the lighting section on my device

@Starspect11, hello!

Thanks for getting back! I appreciate your patience. Since you don’t see the Lighting section on your device, let's go through a few troubleshooting steps to figure this out.

Check if OMEN Gaming Hub Recognizes Your Device

Open OMEN Gaming Hub and see if your laptop appears in the software.

If it doesn’t, try reinstalling the software from the Microsoft Store or HP's official site.

Verify if Your Model Supports RGB Customization

Not all Victus models have customizable RGB lighting. Could you share your exact model number? (You can find it by pressing Fn + Esc or checking under System Information.)

Does your keyboard currently light up at all, or is it stuck on a default color?

Update Your Drivers & BIOS

Sometimes, missing drivers can affect lighting controls. Try updating:

The OMEN Gaming Hub

HP System Event Utility (used for keyboard functions)

BIOS (if an update is available on HP support page)

Let me know what you find after trying these steps, and we’ll troubleshoot further if needed!

So did the user have a Victus15 or a Victus16 model?  I ask because I am trying to change my white keyboard lights on my Victus15....
