I downloaded Turbo Tax to my laptop and cannot open.  I get a message that says that the app i'm trying to install isn't a microsoft verified app.  What else do i need to do:

It sounds to me like you purchased a PC that comes with Windows in S-mode.

 

That operating system version only allows you to download apps which you can get from the Microsoft Store.

 

In order to install programs not from the Microsoft Store, you have to switch out of S-mode.
