Hi @ZCX,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Here’s how you can restore Microsoft Office Home & Student that came pre-installed on your HP laptop:

Why This Happened

When you uninstall Office, the license remains linked to your Microsoft Account, not the HP laptop itself. So you can reinstall it without buying a new copy.

Steps to Get the Office Back

1. Sign in to Your Microsoft Account

  • Go to Microsoft Account – Services & Subscriptions.
  • Sign in with the same account you used to activate Office originally.
  • You should see Office Home & Student listed there.

2. Download and Reinstall Office

  • Click Install Office next to your subscription.
  • Download the installer and run it.
  • After installation, sign in with the same Microsoft account to activate.

3. If You Don’t Remember the Account

  • Check your email for the original activation confirmation from Microsoft.
  • If you can’t find it, contact Microsoft Support with your product key (usually emailed or printed on a card if provided by HP).

4. Use HP Support Assistant

  • Open HP Support AssistantMy Software.
  • Sometimes HP provides a link to reinstall bundled apps, including Office.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi @ZCX,

Thank you for getting back and letting me know. To help you in the right direction, could you please confirm whether Microsoft Office was purchased directly from HP or Microsoft?

If the purchase was made directly from Microsoft, you’ll need to contact Microsoft Support, as only they have access to the licensing and activation tools required to resolve the issue. If it was purchased through HP, do share the invoice in private. Please let me know, and I’ll be happy to guide you further.

Let me know

Regards
