I am trying to connect my Nikon D610 to my Spectre laptop. The D610 has both mini USB and mini HDMI ports. I have an HP HDMI to USB3 converter. Nikon software will work with the USB connection using a 2 to 3 adaptor but I cannot get Zoom to find this input. No joy with the HDMI which may just be for output from laptop to monitor?
Any suggestions please.

I don't know anything about the Nikon camera, but I have used others, and based on that I would guess that (1) the MiniUSB is for power to the camera, and (2) the HDMI is for video transfer and (maybe) streaming from the camera to a PC.
Problem is that PCs with only one HDMI port have that as a video OUTPUT port only, so connecting your camera to it will not allow you to send video from the camera to the PC.
If it were mine, I would check with Nikon to see what they suggest -- as they might have a workaround that works.
I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor represent, HP

Thanks WAWood, the spectre laptop only has three USB ports but HP provide a USB to HDMI adaptor. The Nikon app and some video editing software both access the camera through the to USB 2 to USB 3 adaptor but the Spectre will only use the inbuilt camera as a webcam.
I will see if Nikon have any suggestions but I suspect I need someone with Spectre knowledge.
Thanks
