Hi @Sajid_Amaan,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that Here are the most effective fixes, ordered from the easiest to the most thorough.

Step 1: Clear the Microsoft Store Cache

Corrupted cache files frequently block downloads.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.

  2. Type wsreset.exe and press Enter.

  3. A blank command prompt window will open. Wait a few seconds; it will close automatically, and the Microsoft Store will launch on its own.

  4. Try updating the Photos app again.

Step 2: Use an Alternative Image Viewer

If you need to view your photos immediately while troubleshooting the Store, you can use a built-in app.

  1. Locate the photo file you want to view.

  2. Right-click the file and select Open with.

  3. Choose Paint or Windows Photo Viewer to view your images.

Step 3: Run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

Windows has a built-in tool to detect and fix Store issues.

  1. Open Settings by pressing Windows Key + I.

  2. Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

  3. Find Windows Store Apps in the list and click Run.

  4. Follow the on-screen prompts and restart your laptop when finished.

Step 4: Repair or Reset the Microsoft Store

If clearing the cache didn't work, you can reset the Store app itself.

  1. Press Windows Key + I to open Settings.

  2. Go to Apps > Installed apps (or Apps & features).

  3. Search for Microsoft Store.

  4. Click the three dots (More/Advanced options) next to it and select Advanced options.

  5. Click Repair. If it still fails, return to this screen and select Reset.

Step 5: Run a System File Check

Corrupted core Windows files can prevent app installations.

  1. Press the Start button, type cmd, and right-click Command Prompt to select Run as administrator.

  2. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter (ensure there is a space before the slash).

  3. Wait for the scan to reach 100%, then restart your computer

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
