Hello,
I recently purchased a second-hand HP ENVY x2 Detachable 12-e0xx laptop. After some time, the system started experiencing issues with Windows, and I’m now trying to reinstall the operating system using HP’s cloud recovery service.
However, when I attempt to prepare the USB recovery drive, I enter the Product ID printed on the device's label, but I receive an “Invalid Product ID” error.
Could you please assist me in resolving this issue?
Thank you in advance.

If the PC is 5 or more years old, HP withdraws support for the HP cloud recovery tool software.
Also, the cloud recovery tool is not supported for any PC that originally came with FreeDOS from HP.
You can always use the Microsoft Media creation tool to clean install Windows 10.
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

If your notebook originally came with FreeDOS, you will need to have to product key to reinstall Windows so you can activate the installation.
