If your computer has a backlit keyboard, look the for Special / Action Key to switch on the backlit keyboard feature.

If your computer has a Synaptics Touchpad,

Check Device Manager > Mice and other pointing devices
Right-Click on Properties > Tab Driver > Ensure the Driver is current
