I have a strange issue with my laptop. After the shutdown, my laptop's keyboard camera shutter button's on-off indicator is turned on and remains on. I have tried almost everything, like Windows clean installation, BIOS resetting, and USB power setting, but nothing has solved my problem. When the laptop is on, the key is functioning and does its job. Has anyone any idea how to solve this annoying problem?

Hi @Manotosh1990,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the camera shutter button indicator issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Disable Fast Startup:

  • Open Control Panel and select "Power Options".
  • Click on "Choose what the power buttons do" on the left panel.
  • Click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable".
  • Uncheck "Turn on fast startup (recommended)" and save changes.

Update Drivers:

  • Make sure all drivers, especially the chipset and camera drivers, are updated. You can update them via the Device Manager or download the latest versions from the HP Support website.

Adjust Power Management Settings:

  • Go to Device Manager and expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
  • Right-click on each entry and go to "Properties".
  • Under the "Power Management" tab, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Ensure that all BIOS settings are correctly configured for power management. Sometimes, there might be specific settings related to USB or device power during shutdown.

HP Support Assistant:

  • Run HP Support Assistant to check for any hardware diagnostics or updates that might address the issue.

I hope this helps.
