Hi @Country_Editzz,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding webcam and microphone issues on the HP Envy 15 As003Tu!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check BIOS Settings
- Reset BIOS to Default:
- Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F10 during startup).
- Look for an option to reset the BIOS settings to default. This can fix any unintended changes affecting hardware detection.
Device Manager Checks
Scan for Hardware Changes:
- Open Device Manager (Windows Key + X > Device Manager).
- Click on Action and select Scan for hardware changes to refresh the hardware list.
Enable Hidden Devices:
- In Device Manager, click on View and select Show hidden devices. This might reveal devices not listed initially.
Driver Installation and Updates
Update Drivers:
- Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your model, including audio and chipset drivers.
- Ensure that your Windows is up-to-date as well, as updates can include necessary drivers for some devices.
HP Support Assistant:
- Install and run the HP Support Assistant to check for updates and troubleshoot issues automatically.
Windows Troubleshooter
- Run Windows Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Run the troubleshooter for both Hardware and Devices and Recording Audio.
Microphone Settings
- Check Audio Settings:
- Navigate to Settings > System > Sound.
- Ensure the correct microphone is selected as the input device and check the input volume level.
Additional Steps
- Check Windows Privacy Settings: Make sure that your microphone and camera permissions are enabled under Settings > Privacy.
- Reinstall Webcam Driver: If the webcam is still missing, try uninstalling any existing camera software and reinstalling the driver.
I hope this helps.
