Hi @p215nk,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Pavilion 15 notebook is experiencing sound and visual lag after installing drivers from third-party websites. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and help restore stable performance.

Check Device Manager for driver conflicts
Open Device Manager and look for warning or error icons next to any devices.
These usually indicate incompatible or incorrect drivers.

Roll back recently installed drivers
In Device Manager, right-click affected devices (graphics, audio, chipset).
Select Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Remove third-party drivers completely
Uninstall drivers that were installed from non-HP sources via Device Manager.
Restart the laptop to allow Windows to load basic default drivers.

Install essential drivers from HP only
Visit the official HP support page for your Pavilion 15 model.
Download and install drivers in this order: Chipset → Graphics → Audio → BIOS (if available).

Update drivers using HP Support Assistant
Install and run HP Support Assistant to detect and apply the correct drivers automatically.
This ensures compatibility with your specific hardware configuration.

Check startup and background processes
Open Task Manager and review CPU, Memory, and Disk usage.
Disable unnecessary startup apps that may be increasing system latency.

Repair system files
Open Command Prompt as administrator.
Run sfc /scannow, restart the system once completed, and monitor performance.

Restart audio and graphics services
Restart the system after driver installation.
Test audio playback and simple visual tasks to confirm lag is resolved.

I hope this helps.
