Hi, first time here. I have updated bios thru support assistant on the 20/1 to F.30 (softreq SP88565) on an AMD A9-9420.Also AMD graphics (sp88300 vers 23.20.868.3840).
And now the laptop runs incredibly slow. To get into Gmail takes ages and google states it is having problems. All other sites such as FB take ages to load. In essence all programes are so slow as to be useless.
I have seen elsewhere that this update has caused similar issues. Any idea if or when it may be addressed.
Many thanks

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
I have a few steps to identify and resolve the issue:
Common causes of slow system performance:
-
Not enough free disk space or disk errors.
-
Applications that require a lot of system resources.
-
Too many tasks running at the same time.
-
Nonessential graphic features.
-
Not enough memory.
-
Overheating due to intensive graphic applications or dust in vents.
-
Running multiple instances of anti-virus software.

Turning off nonessential graphical features to improve system performance
Graphical features and programs can use a lot of system resources.
Turning off these features can improve system performance.

The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Let me know how that pans out.
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask any other queries as well,

Thanks for the advice. But MS fixit has changed. And half of the downloads I tried were not compatable with my software according to MS. AS an example of the slowness of the laptop. It has taken 15 minutes just to browse to this page and log in. Making the laptop of little use. My first time with an AMD processor (I believe this to be the core of the problem) and a HP product. Only had it for 7 months from new. So not too impressed now. But thanks anyway.
