Pavilion cw-1507sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This laptop replaces an older Lenovo, and we want to install our existing MS-Office as we are used to it and use it on the other desktop PC's in the house.

Am I safe to install the older version alongside the trial Office 365 on this laptop -- (might be interesting to try out in case we decide to upgrade all the PC's)

Or should I uninstall the Office 365 first?

Advice or experience would be most appreciated.

Hi, @Donald_36

You cannot run two different versions of Office side by side.

I recommend that you read the discussion below, and look at Dragon-Fur's reply, and the link she posted for how to properly remove Office from your PC.

Apparently, you can have issues...

Hi

Personally I would use Belarc Advisor on the Lenovo if you can, and print out all the Licence Details.

Then on the Pavilion for peace of mind.

Then armed with that, I would install LibreOffice on the the new Pavilion (as a backup), then try an install of the version of Office you are familiar with.

Hi Lil_Boy_Blue,

Good reminder!  I made sure to get all the old keys off the old laptop, would be wise to do the same on the new HP.  I used Licencecrawler - but will try Belarc Advisor too.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

Thanks... that was kind of what I was thinking.  Since I think it is unlikely we will go for Office 365, I will just note the license keys and get rid.

Cheers.
