Mediatek MT7921 wifi stopped working. I've tried all the things.

Restart

Find hidden driver and update it

Reset network

This isn't the first time it happened but the 1st time I can't get it back. Currently tethered to a hot spot

Your mediatek device is one of the components that can be tested by the UEFI diagnostics.

Check to see if there is a hardware problem: Watch this video.

Tap the ESC key after powering on. Tap it once a second after you see the LEDs on the keyboard flash. When you see the startup menu, press F2 to run diagnostics.

If the Wi-Fi adapter fails during the UEFI test then Click here to check warranty

If Wi-Fi is not listed then possibly it is in the updated version of UEFI diagnostics

HP releases newer UEFI diagnostics periodically.
When you select F2 during boot you are requesting UEFI diagnostics.
There is an updated diagnostics package Click Here
Look for the phrase 'issues outside the OS',
Click the DOWNLOAD button.
The version of the UEFI diagnostics is shown at the left of that DOWNLOAD button.
When you press F2 to run diagnostics please ensure the version is the new one.

If no failure then windows drivers or file corruption could be the problem.
If your laptop has an on/off Wi-Fi function key then ensure the Wi-Fi is on.

Go here and expand the windows 11 using "Open All" and download both the bluetooth and the Wi-Fi drivers.

Hello,

After all the hardware updates, resets, uninstalls, and reboots. I found some advice to turn the machine off by pressing the on/off switch and holding it down for a full 30 seconds. And that finally woke my wifi up.

HP Recommended

I am glad you got it working.  That 30 second event is a hard reset that affects the power supply circuitry to the PC or laptop.  I suspect the Wi-Fi was cleared by something you did before that reset.

If the problems happens again, let me know.

If everything is working I recommend you create a "restore point"
