OMEN by HP 17-an008nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Goodmorning,

I'm Fabio and I'm from Italy.

I've bought an OMEN by HP 17-an008nl, and I have a strange problem: when I switch off the laptop, it turns on itself.

Why? What can I do? Sorry for my bad english, thank you.

Greetings @Alfarone

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that your computer is booting automatically with being powered on, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?

May I know the procedure you are following to shut down your computer?

Please make sure all the Windows updates are installed.

Run HP Support Assistant on your computer to make sure all the drivers are updated. Click here

Once all the drivers and windows updates are installed, check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, open control panel by doing a right-click on the Windows button.

Select the troubleshooter and run the power troubleshooter on your computer.

Let me know if this helped.

I tried to switch off my PC from the option inside the main menu and from the button on the keyboard: in both cases the PC automatically turns on. If I keep pressed the button then the PC turns off.

Thanks for the reply, boot the computer to BIOS by tapping F10 repeatedly on startup.

Restore BIOS to defaults. Save and Exit.

Disconnect any external devices and check.

If the issue persists, please contact our phone support team to check on the service options available for your computer

Keep me posted. Good Luck.
