HP Recommended

Ok, before everyone starts laughing… The Laptop I have, I have been using for years now and it was working fine (paid a whopping 2 Grand for it with all the Bells n Whistles)… got told it would last a Lifetime..well almost made it!…. Ok, now you can laugh!…. So it worked until I was hospitalized for a Cancer operation and was gone for months… came back turned it on, signed in ok, windows XP opened, all icons came up, pointer moved as normal but then when I pointed to Start/ or anything else the only thing I got was the glass clock and no response… nothing comes up.  Waited for hours and still nothing…. So now you’re probably wondering what type of HP Laptop I have… no laughing please… A COMPAQ PRESARIO V2000 with Win XP (easy non complicated etc.)… kinda like Wi 98 was, remember?… not the complications of the newer ones..

anyway, I went to HP support for assistance, NOPE! Product is DISCONTINUED… well, yes, I could have guessed that… so now I am turning to you The Famous HP Community for Help… So PLEASE HELP!… I am just a young at Heart n Mind Vietnam Veteran needing some assistance… ok?.. Thank You for anything you can do….
