@Jishan49, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your laptop touchpad stopped working after a recent update, let’s work together to get it fixed.

Check if the Touchpad is Disabled

Sometimes updates can change settings.

  • Press Fn + F6 (or F5, F9, depending on your model) to toggle the touchpad on/off.
  • Alternatively, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and ensure it’s turned On.

Update or Roll Back the Touchpad Driver

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click on the touchpad device (e.g., Synaptics, ELAN, HID-compliant) and choose:
    • Update driver → Search automatically.
    • If the issue started after an update, try Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver.

Reinstall the Touchpad Driver

  • In Device Manager, right-click the touchpad and select Uninstall device.
  • Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
  • If not, download the latest driver from the HP Support Website.

Use HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant can automatically detect and fix driver issues:

BIOS Update (Optional but Helpful)
