I bought a new hp smart adapter yesterday that my laptop needs but my laptop is still giving me the notification that my needs higher capacity adapter

My original adapter was 150w and my new  adapter both r  150w and all the other numbers like voltage and all are also the same

When I charge my laptop it gives me that notification but when I charged it in the shop it did not give that notification

Also the charging point  that I use in my house is same that I used to use for my original adapter but the notification did not popped

Hey there! @Eshan2001,

 

Are you using an HP genuine AC adapter?

 

Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.

 

If you are using a third-party AC adapter you have might have AC adapter issues.

 

Try updating the BIOS and other drivers on the PC to the latest version using HP support assistant and check if it helps.

 

Refer this article to know more information about using HP support assistant.

 

Also, Try restoring the BIOS to default and check if it helps.

 

Turn on your PC keep tapping the F10 key, you will boot into BIOS.

 

From the main or file menu select restore defaults.

 

Select F10 to save changes and exit.

 

Lastly, try running a system diagnostics on your PC and check if the hardware components on your laptop are functioning correctly.
