Hi @Borntodie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing an unusual issue with your HP laptop's charging behavior, particularly in relation to battery temperature. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue.
- Check Power Settings: Make sure your power settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, power-saving settings or battery optimization features can affect charging behavior. Adjust these settings as necessary to see if it makes a difference.
- Update BIOS and Drivers: Ensure that your BIOS and all relevant drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated firmware or drivers can cause compatibility issues that affect charging performance.
- Temperature Monitoring: Use software tools to monitor the temperature of your laptop's battery and other components. This can help you confirm whether temperature is indeed the cause of the charging issue.
- Ventilation and Cooling: Ensure that your laptop is properly ventilated and not overheating. Blocked vents or inadequate airflow can cause components to heat up, affecting charging performance.
- Battery Calibration: Perform a battery calibration to recalibrate the battery gauge and improve accuracy. This process involves fully charging the battery, discharging it completely, and then fully charging it again.
- Reset BIOS Settings: If you recently recovered your BIOS and restored your laptop, there might be some settings that are causing the issue. Try resetting the BIOS settings to their default values and see if that helps.
- Hardware Inspection: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there might be a hardware problem with your laptop.
By following these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP laptop's charging behavior.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Firstly I want to tell you that I observed my laptop and I see that when the laptop battery temperature is below 11°C while charging the mah current is 286 or 287 but when the temperature of battery is above 11°C or 11°C the mah current is 1876 or 2500 while charging .when I came from vacation my laptop was 0% my laptop was charging normal and when I open and I got a message CMOS checksum is invalid then I search on google I see it's happens when bios is corrupted then I recover bios after that tomorrow but before the bios my laptop charges normal and I restore my laptop and click a option create new pc but tomorrow when I charge my laptop it charges very slow I check my charger my friend device it was charging normally and I think it's happening after the bios recover and restore I tried all the solution but nothing works and I see that only laptop charges to 99% and after charge 99% takes 1 or half hour of active screen to decrease to 98 after it gives normal backup it is last time I am buying hp device only your support is good but product are waste of money my laptop is only 1 year old then why this happening to me and it happens after my warrenty out by 1 day.i have same price of laptop assus and avita notebook these laptops are working fine from 3 to 4 years but your dumb laptops are waste of money.
