Hi @Johnriv

That sounds frustrating, but let's get your laptop back on track! If the Settings option is missing and Wi-Fi isn't working, here are some steps to troubleshoot:
Step 1: Check for Windows Updates
- Press Ctrl + Alt + Del and select Task Manager.
- Click File > Run new task.
- Type ms-settings: and hit Enter—this should open Settings manually.
- If it works, go to Windows Update and install any pending updates.
Step 2: Restart Windows Explorer
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Find Windows Explorer in the list.
- Right-click and select Restart.
- Check if the Settings option appears.
Step 3: Reset Network Settings
- Open Command Prompt (Admin) (Win + X > Command Prompt (Admin)).
- Run the following commands one by one:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns - Restart your laptop and check Wi-Fi connectivity.
Step 4: Check Device Manager for Missing Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
- Expand Network Adapters.
- If your Wi-Fi adapter is missing or has a yellow warning icon:
- Right-click and select Update Driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Step 5: Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Open Run (Win + R), type msdt.exe /id NetworkDiagnosticsNetworkAdapter, and hit Enter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose Wi-Fi issues.
