Pavilion DV9500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an HP Pavilion DV9500 (info from BIOS, the sticker on the bottom says DV9620ED) that was running Windows Vista until I upgraded it to Windows 10 64bit today. I can't find the drivers I need however. It's running an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor and an unknown NVidia graphics card

Hi, @JustSayCJ1

HP retired support for the dv9500 model series and there were only drivers released for Windows Vista.

I can find some of the Vista drivers that you can install and see if they work on W10.

You will have to manually install the graphics and chipset drivers.

Chipset (There will be a Coprocessor device that needs this driver).

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp37501-38000/sp37730.exe

Graphics (Could be labeled as a video controller, or under the Display Adapters device manager category, a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter).

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp42501-43000/sp42635.exe

Here is the procedure to manually install the drivers.  I will use the chipset driver as an example, and you do the same thing for the graphics driver.

Run the driver file.   Close out of any error windows.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the Coprocessor device needing the driver.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the location where the driver folder was created when you ran the file.   That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\s37730.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then restart the PC.

Do the same thing for the graphics driver, except brose to C:\SWSetup\sp42635.

You will probably have Base System Devices listed.  Those devices need the card reader driver.

I have zipped that driver up and attached it below since HP no longer has it on their FTP site.

This should automatically install the devices by unzipping and running the driver.

If there are any other drivers you need, please let me know.

If the audio isn't working, that may be a problem. I don't think the Vista driver will work but you can try it if you need it.
