Solved!

Need help

 I purchased my laptop HP notebook last year and barely used it so now a year later I need to use it and it won’t allow me to do anything on it, it’s asking me just to use Microsoft Word or Excel that I need to purchase a years subscription. How is this fair prior to owning this laptop I owned a Apple and never had any issues .

@Vortex2

It's nothing at all to do with fairness; it has everything to do with Microsoft Office licensing terms.

Recent PCs come with Office 365 -- and that is only license for a year from the PC manufacturing date.

Since yours is older than that, the license has expired -- this is Microsoft's doing, not HP.
