Just got a brand new hp chromebook for kids to use for school.   It is saying future software and security updates will install automatically.   It's been jumping to this screen for last 2 hrs.   Does it take a long time for updates?   Haven't been able to get any further on the setup.

Hi @Chrissiebryant1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are getting an error on your HP Chromebook. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 Let's perform a hard reset:

Hard reset your Chromebook

For most Chromebooks, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn off your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Refresh + tap Power .
  3. When your Chromebook starts up, release Refresh .
  4. Check if the PC turns on normally now.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
