I have two touchpads listed: TouchPadSMB2cTM3409-1 and TouchPadPS2TM3409-1, and I'm not sure which one to use. Also, once I get to these folders I'm not sur ehow to procede. I can't find any "3FingerTapAction" or "3FingerTapActionID" (there are folders in each for "3FingerGestures", full of various "PlugInID#" and "ActionID#", but I'm not sure what to edit). I'm sure this is bc I've got a different computer than you (Omen vs Envy), but that doesn't help much. Any idea of what to do from here?

I've attached a screenshot for reference. After looking for a bit, the two Touchpad folders seem to be the same, just with different names (same files with the sames values for each of the #Gesture folders).

Hello,
I also have two - SMB and PS2 - as described, I only edited the SMB version and it worked. As for missing values - I also have the sub-keys, but don't worry about them. Have you actually enterered the key to see tha values, or just expanded using the arrow?
I believe Omens have the same Synaptics driver, but if there are no values, then either reinstall the driver, or I can't help.

I resolved this issue when trying to disable the touchpad on my wife's new HP Envy 17 laptop by entering the name of the touchpad manufacturer "Synaptics" in the windows search field on the bottom left of the desktop screen and hitting the [ENTER] key. If your laptop doesn't show a search field then hold down the Windows key (usually near the bottom left of your keyboard) and touch the Q key.
The Synaptics Pointing Device ClickPad Settings should pop up. Check the box labeled "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached". Then click the [APPLY] button. That should do it.
