Hi:

The M.2 slot in the 14s-fq0xxx model series that come with the 64 GB eMMC drives only supports SATA M.2 SSD's not NVMe.

Exchange the NVMe SSD for a SATA M.2 SSD and it will work just fine.

I don’t get it… how much I know sata m.2 has two holes and nvme has one, a the connector is made with one hole…

The amount of notches don't mean a thing.

Every HP notebook and desktop that I have ever seen as a M.2 slot that 'looks' like it will support a NVMe drive.

They all have only one key.

You have to know what type drive the slot supports.

Some support SATA only, some support NVMe only and some support both.

Unfortunately, only the 14-fq notebooks that came with a 2.5" drive and a Ryzen processor have M.2 slots that will support a NVMe SSD.

There is no reason why a SATA SSD won't fit in the same slot.  The second notch doesn't make contact with the pins on the other side of the M.2 slot.

All you need to do is to do a search on this forum and find the many posts from folks like yourself that looked at the slot and installed a NVMe SSD.

As, I indicated earlier...the notebooks with the 64 GB eMMC SSD's will only support a SATA M.2 SSD in the slot.

There is no way you will get the NVMe SSD you bought to work in that notebook.
