Hello, HP community.

I’ve just purchased a brand new HP OMEN 16 (2025 model), and I'm unable to get OMEN Gaming Hub to work. The application crashes immediately after launch, showing the following message:

"An unexpected error occurred. The application will now close."

🔧 My system specifications:

  • Model: HP OMEN 16 (2025)

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9

  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU (8 GB)

  • RAM: 32 GB DDR5

  • Storage: 1 TB NVMe SSD

  • OS: Windows 11 Education N (fresh installation, fully updated)

Troubleshooting steps I’ve already tried:

  1. Repaired, reset, and uninstalled/reinstalled OMEN Gaming Hub three times.

  2. Restarted the PC several times after each step.

  3. Uninstalled and reinstalled the NVIDIA GPU drivers and control software, using both HP Support Assistant and NVIDIA's official site.

  4. Installed the OMEN Gaming Hub via the Microsoft Store and also directly from the official HP website.

  5. Opened Task Manager and ended all OMEN-related background processes before restarting the app.

  6. Made sure all Windows updates and drivers are fully installed.

Despite all these attempts, the “unexpected error” keeps appearing and the app closes instantly.

This is extremely frustrating on a brand-new, high-performance machine. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or insight into how to resolve this.

Thanks,
Pedro

Troubleshooting OMEN Gaming Hub Crashes on HP OMEN 16 (2025 Model)

If the OMEN Gaming Hub application is crashing on your HP OMEN 16, displaying an error message and closing immediately, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

  1. Update OMEN Gaming Hub:

    • Ensure that you have the latest version of the OMEN Gaming Hub installed. You can check for updates via the Microsoft Store.
    • Open the Microsoft Store, search for OMEN Gaming Hub, and see if an update is available.
  2. Reinstall OMEN Gaming Hub:

    • Uninstall the existing OMEN Gaming Hub application from your system.
    • Open the Microsoft Store, search for OMEN Gaming Hub, and reinstall the application.
  3. Check for Windows Updates:

    • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date, as certain updates might be required for the application to run smoothly.
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates.
  4. Graphics Driver Update:

    • Ensure your graphics drivers are up to date. Update your NVIDIA or AMD drivers from their respective websites or through the device manager.
    • You can also use the HP Support Assistant to check for and install any HP-specific driver updates.
  5. Verify System Requirements:

    • Check that your system meets the system requirements for running the OMEN Gaming Hub.
    • Ensure that no background application conflicts might be interfering with its operation.
  6. Clear Application Data:

    • Corrupted files within the application’s directory can cause crashes.
    • Navigate to C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OMEN Gaming Hub and clear any temporary files or caches related to the application.
  7. Check Antivirus/Firewall:

    • Sometimes, antivirus programs or firewalls may block certain components of the application, leading to crashes.
    • Temporarily disable the antivirus/firewall and see if the OMEN Gaming Hub launches successfully. If it does, you may need to add an exception in your antivirus settings for the application.
  8. Contact HP Support:

    • If the issue persists despite trying these steps, contacting HP Support for further assistance or checking HP’s online community for similar reported issues might provide more specific guidance or a resolution.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to get the OMEN Gaming Hub working smoothly on your HP OMEN 16 (2025 model).
